MBS Safety
Systems
Provides
group training seminars for
young people and adults in a
range of anti-victimisation,
risk reduction strategies and
personal safety techniques.
Risk reduction, a term borrowed
from situational crime
prevention strategy, is an
approach that focuses on
reducing the vulnerability of
potential targets. Our
programmes are not based on a
victim precipitation model but
on an acceptance of the
unfortunate reality that people
often reserve the right to
behave badly towards others, and
for no good reason. With that in
mind, it makes good sense to be
prepared for such unpleasant
events.
These programmes combine
elements of rational-emotive
behaviour therapy, assertiveness
training and fitness training,
with principles and practices of
personal safety training.
